Not the same as HBV which causes morbidity in multiple ways & liver cancer; & is widespread, not cleared & transmission likely innocuous: pre-chewed food to infants.

      Replying to @JaneEOpie @_PHAA_ and

Only you can know the answer to that. My point still remains, that the logic for deciding for infants to get a vaccine in cases like measles and HBV fails when applied to giving HPV to young children w/o their consent vs allowing young adults to decide if they want to take it.

Population prevalence at any time point of HPV in unvaccinated people is ~20% The lifetime risk of any HPV is >80% The vaccine prevents cervical, anal, and other HPV-related cancers, and has one of the lowest risks of side-effects of any vaccine The rationale is very strong

The problem with "chastity prevents HPV" is that a) it doesn't, always b) teenagers bang, and they bang a lot Personal morality notwithstanding, teenagers are going to bump uglies, so the question is do we prevent disease or moralize about fucking?

Frontal lobes of 'teens" often not wired up till at least age 25 - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3621648/ … so impulsive behaviours etc the norm. Let's protect them by vaccinating them. Or we could do the nimby ostrichpic.twitter.com/FhqGvobiRa
