From the perspective of the #keto diet fans, I have a few questions!
1. If ketones are the body's optimal fuel, why does gluconeogenesis occur?
2. If carbohydrates are harmful to the body, why are they present in breast milk?

Interesting perspective on the second Q. If we all agree on Q1 (as most of the responses to my tweet have suggested), I'm not sure why there's so much fuss and arguing going on all the time?

It usually feels like there's a lot of ideology that gets in the way of moving forward. Everyone wants to present their case as a 'silver bullet', and I often see the RDs sitting in the middle saying "why don't we just use what works for each patient?"
