The problem is that pills WORK Long-term, the efficacy for lifestyle interventions hovers in the single digits (depending on intervention/disease) Which would you prescribe?

It’s really a problem. You can talk for 3 hours, without any results. No diet, no sports, no change. After some time you desist and prescribe pills. Most people are not willing or not able to a change of life.

For lots of people a healthy diet and more exercise just are not realistically sustainable.

Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes are listed at the top of all chronic disease management guidelines. However, it doesn’t get enough time in clinical practice where the average time in f/u with a PCP is ~18 min! On top of that sustained adherence to a healthy lifestyle is often poor.

Literally every doctor and consultant I saw for over 20 years for spinal arthritis wouldn't when listen to me when I kept saying I think my problem is related to something I'm eating. Just try more and more pills and horrible symptoms. 8 years off dairy and I'm fit as a fiddle.
