Hey sleep people, I have a question. Is a reduction in sleep latency for primary insomnia of ~5 minutes clinically meaningful?

I don't know about clinically in a professional sense, but to a patient who is sleep deprived, they may want those 5 minutes. Also, is the argument for melatonin just about latency? Or is also about staying asleep/quality.

Yeh honestly I'm not sure. There seems to be some evidence for total sleep time in specific patient groups (i.e. children with neurodevelopmental disorders), but for insomnia not so much. I'm honestly unsure that's why I'm asking lol
