True. Also, I don't think he was convicted on the basis of a single testimony? a single eye-witness, sure, but that's not uncommon. There were more than a dozen witnesses who testified, so I feel like it's a bit of a stretch
There were no corroborating accounts, forensic evidence or patterns of behaviour admitted to evidence. For obvious reasons, but still highly unusual to gain a conviction without them.
Most of the other witnesses were called for the defence to discuss “implausibilities” in the sequence of events. The prosecution showed in cross-examination the events were *possible* as alleged. The million-dollar question is whether reasonable doubt remained.
