Really, I can't see any evidence to support the claim, and lots of evidence against it. Calorie controlled diets don't work. Refinement and macronutrients do matter, and it depends on the metabolic state of the person as to how much macronutrients matter.

That's a confusing statement imo because there's certainly evidence that calorie-controlled diets cause weight loss. It's diet maintenance that's the issue, and that's a problem for every diet under the sun
