Best evidence seems to indicate that - the proportion of carbs/protein/fat you eat probably makes a difference in weight loss - this has a MUCH smaller effect than the amount of food that you eat, overallhttps://twitter.com/TamarHaspel/status/1100532223290294273 …

My understanding js macro composition is more relwvant for determining lean mass and fat mass lost, along with resistance training. And that mostly comes down to adequate protein intake (fat/CHO more variable, personal pref?)

Really? Why then do we have epidemic diabetes and NAFLD which was unknown before 1980? How come people can lose 50% of liver fat in 2 weeks without weight loss on a low carb diet. Is this just another paradox?pic.twitter.com/I045NCe166

@TamarHaspel's thread and article do a great job of explaining that, which was why I quote-tweeted her

I dunno. I hope the data is good. All I have is personal experience that I'm 15kg down and still falling, and I eats lots of protein, fat, dairy, and fruit. I dont limit quantity, just no starch (and no alcohol, for other reasons).

Whatever works for you! The issue is that in controlled clinical trials overall there's no difference between various dieting methods long-term, although low-carb does tend to be better if you only look at <6 months
