#Epitwitter! How many years does medicine add to life expectancy? What is the human lifespan in nature and how high could it theoretically get with public health & no medicine: vaccines, sanitation, 0% smoking/drugs/alcohol, exercise, no tanning, vegan diet etc?

My personal opinion - virtually impossible to quantify, extremely hard to estimate, and what are we considering "medicine" because I'd argue exercise, diet etc are medical interventions!

I added my motivation in an additional tweet. Essentially, I'm asking what's possible, in a poor country, if you have minimally trained health workers. Let's say with a few weeks of training.

Ah that makes more sense. Still seems very difficult to quantify? I'd guess most countries probably improve all things including medicine at the same time so it'd be hard to unpick into discrete associations
