This is a classic case of a wildly overhyped story on basic preclinical research. They've tested a few in vivo and in vitro models of their work, but even then the research is VERY LIMITED There's no way they're going to "cure cancer" https://www.jpost.com/HEALTH-SCIENCE/A-cure-for-cancer-Israeli-scientists-say-they-think-they-found-one-578939 …

The only thing that makes this different from every "breakthrough cancer cure" nonsense story is that this time it's the scientists themselves spreading the hype, possibly because they want to raise funds for their private research company

Although to be fair, the media have run with statements like this one, that are basically total bullshit Which cancer? In whom? Has it been tested? What's the mode of delivery? Is it safe? Etc etc etcpic.twitter.com/OZKleU5N58

Agreed. Good swift push-back from medical community, though: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-6644577/A-cure-cancer-YEAR-Israeli-scientists-say-critics-warn-findings-thin.html …

That is good to see. My guess is that it will eventually come out that their private business has been having funding issues or similar and this was an attempt to secure future funding

Omg amazing. Many/most journals are free to publish in, unless they're talking translation costs that's just not true

Baffling! Again - a bonkers claim allowed to slip by into an article. These guys are having a hoot.

I mean, this claim is just wild. Doing the experiments does advance the research, publication is just writing up the work you've done and submitting it online!pic.twitter.com/T9QQkcCXoz
