It's an interesting way to frame the question. Given the vast array of psychological influences built into advertising, and the known environmental influences on food choices, you could argue that regulation increases "freedom" for the majority of people

I mean, dictators have argued a lot of things that we all currently espouse, I'm sure I could search through Mein Kampf and find a whole host of arguments currently in use by the libertarian movement in Australia. Doesn't really speak to my point

It goes to the old argument about positive versus negative liberty with the former being the path to tyranny, as Berlin concluded.

Could just as easily argue that positive liberty is demonstrated best in Nordic countries as the path to happiness, it's usually more complex than a single philosophical ideal when it comes to governments
