It's hard to compare results across trials, even if they are identical (which these two trials were emphatically not), so I'd be very cautious saying that one approach is "better" without a direct comparison

It does not need to be " better" it just needs to work. There are about 4 billion people on the planet need to refind metabolic health- Why are we not going all out to figure out how to help them all instead of worrying at which is " better" ?

It depends on what we're talking about, of course. For someone to use something, it just has to work and be reasonably safe. For governments to fund a treatment, it should ideally be the most cost-effective option

I think you are arguing for the sake of it . The govt. Like everyone else only needs to be slightly more right than wrong slightly more than half the time. Both hard enough. Your attitude just contributes to paralysis while people die.

Yeh, I mean it's not like I work in the area or am trying to get funding for intensive lifestyle interventions in type 2 diabetes or anything

I'm.glad you are , though a little surprisef you are so negative about
@virta results. Thousands of none scientists are very happy with it. The scientific basis is sound , so why are you so sceptical ? Have you tried the diet yourself?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I did do LCHF at one point, but never a full keto diet. Didn't work for me personally, but lots of family members like it. I'm not sure negative is the right word. I'm appropriately cautious given the biases built into the study, I'd say

Thats a pity , if you had you would see why it changes your attitude to food . The way it feels is life changing because its no longer a " diet " it's a way of being . It's why I can now happily not have eaten anything for three days and not even be hungry .

Dunno I lost 30kg with a high-carb diet so I personally don't think it's a pity
