That's also unproven.. how can eating meat and veg freshly prepared ever be called tedious and repetitive...have you ever really tried a well formulated keto diet?

Actually, that was demonstrated in a well-controlled RCT that convincingly causally determined efficacy And as I said, it was about perspective. Different diets work better for different people!

DiRECT had cherry picked participants and got what 48% "reversal".. Virta is real world with no selection criteria and got 60% same criteria. Virta never claimed to be an RCT .. you could say the control group was the 88% of the US pop with disorded metabolisms?

Hm? They both had very similar selection criteria for participants. The main difference was that DiRECT was more rigorous and had better control, making it more likely to reflect an actual difference rather than simply the biases of the study authors

Not really DiRECT had time diagnosed ^ years or less and HbA1c levels lower and upper limits as criteria no insulin etc ViRTA was simply between 21 and 65 I believe?

Their exclusions were almost identical, and limiting your age group from 21-65 practically limits the duration of T2DM/HbA1c (in all but very exceptional cases) so I'd say that "very similar" is a fair statementpic.twitter.com/270HKnaHN6

To be fair, it does depend on what precisely the Virta authors meant as their statements are very vague, but yes I'd say clinically that those are markers of the same disorders that Virta excluded for, aside from one or two elements

The weight loss is the only big one, which actually is something that makes Virta far WEAKER, not stronger, because one potential explanation for their results is that the comparison group had already lost weight prior to the study (not that this is true, but it is possible)
