Nah, it's a problem inherent in nutrition. You can determine causality from discrete causes, but it's basically impossible to do so with individual nutrients and eating patterns given how tied in to social factors they are. That's why guidelines take so much time and effort!

I should say, *basically impossible without long-term RCTs, which are usually unethical/impossible to perform
