Study is here, it basically says that the evidence for artificial sweeteners as a sugar replacement isn't great, but there's not much evidence that they're harmful either https://www.bmj.com/content/364/bmj.k4718 …
Better headline: artificial sweeteners don't cause cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, mental health issues, kidney disease, or any other identified health issue. Subtitle: they might not help with weight loss, but they're definitely safe Wordy, but correct
Another interesting finding: current best evidence suggests that artificial sweeteners don't increase appetite or caloric consumption This is directly contrary to common belief, and yet totally unreported!pic.twitter.com/0784qMvkv5
They taste bad though
Correct Headline:
Artificial Sweeteners Study
Principle Finding:
POTENTIAL HARMS. COULD NOT. BE EXCLUDED.
& more research required.
who knows exactly how much, the quantity, of AS ie Acesulfame K #Acek in Coke Zero?https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2010614
I think you'd have to take an incredibly disingenuous stance to read into this study anything other than artificial sweeteners probably being safe but more research being needed on potential benefits/harms
