This is just one of many, it's hard to read these without yelling at the computer screen. Not sure what's happening here, but the piece seems to misinterpret or simply get things wrong quite a lot of the time

Yes but a difference of 2kg after 9 years! I think the point he is making is that this is a statistical difference, but is it a clinically significant difference?

In fact, I was wrong, it was a 0.4kg weight loss after 9 years. This is certainly not clinically significant. It requires at least 15kg weight loss for example to put diabetes into remission (DiRECT study)

For an intervention that was literally 4 group sessions per year? I mean, it's not a huge weight loss but really any difference is pretty big considering the intervention. In comparison, DiRECT provided total meal replacement and dozens of consults
