My most recent headache is fact-checking Dr. Jason Fung's blogs, because it's such a minefield but it seems so legitimate it's scary

This was mostly because the control group gained weight on average, but it's still a really important and significant finding that COMPLETELY CONTRADICTS Dr. Fung's argumentpic.twitter.com/ecRUpx1v2Y

This is just one of many, it's hard to read these without yelling at the computer screen. Not sure what's happening here, but the piece seems to misinterpret or simply get things wrong quite a lot of the time

The fact that the piece ends with a call to buy Dr. Fung's book seems to also be a bit...problematic to mepic.twitter.com/CMduouOU8K

Statistical significance is not the definition of success. A diet which, after seven and a half years, you weigh 400 grams less than controls is a failed diet, even if the difference is statistically significant.

Funny that HN did not refer to stat. significance but to clin. significance. Would love to see what does he mean with this term.
