There are pretty easy and effective ways to do home canning and get a safe product, as well. There is no safe raw milk or raw oyster.

Bad as raw milk and oysters can be (believe me I don't underestimate them) they don't cause botulism. I remember an Italian guy in the UK who died having brought mamma's bottled mushrooms home as a treat.
