I'm not disputing that if you put people on an very low calorie diet some of them will lose enough weight to experience temporary remission from T2D. I am questioning the advisability of doing it with the substance that caused the condition in the first place.
Do you have evidence behind that statement? Current best evidence suggests that it does last and it does fix the underlying problem

I'm talking about the DiRECT trial - it does of course depend on what you're defining as "The underlying problem" but I'd suggest diabetes remission is a strong outcome
