Ok, for the last time COFFEE SPENDING ISN'T GOING TO DETERMINE ANYONE'S FINANCIAL FUTURE If you never buy a coffee, save every cent, you'll still save far less than someone on a living wage

The people who try to sell the message that you can make a fortune by denying yourself basic luxuries invariably: 1. Didn't do it for themselves 2. Really just use it as an excuse to lower social support spending anyway

Then take the savings and buy a 2nd hand car for cash instead of getting a car loan, and save what you would have spent on the car loan. Then have the money for a house deposit..... Then take a lodger to pay of the mortgage quicker. (and get the promotion as well!)

Everyone should be sure to keep this in mind the next time they consider turning down a promotion. In the meantime, no need to have a false dichotomy. 1.2k/year for a single daily drink choice is a lot for a lot of people. Esp. when that attitude extends to many other choices.

I don't think it's a false dichotomy. 1.2k/year is a large spend, but the point is that cutting this (high) estimate out of your life still won't be the deciding factor in whether you can afford property Scrimping and saving on a low income does not create wealth
