Chicken pox isn’t vaccinated against routinely in the uk (or it wasn’t when I left!- it may have changed). When I was young Drs advocated for “chicken pox parties” to ensure we all had it as children. This practice has been discredited now as chicken pox can have consequences >

Furthermore pox in pregnancy is catastrophic. I once saw a child with varicella syndrome
it has stayed with me. Poor kid spent much of their life in hospital. So in summary #vaccineswork and I wonder if the uk has changed its practice? - Show replies
