You can't just say "evolution has determined this", it's not really a cogent argument. Evolution has also determined that sea slugs mate in a hermaphrodidic chain because they are all male and female simultaneously As to the rest, I advise you to read the thread above^^
That's an interesting argument. There are reasons that a doctor needs to know sex - endocrinologists, for example - but often this is not the case. And in many ways, sex is less important than hormone levels in most contexts anyway

But there are also many times when they do need to know; drug administration, disease diagnosis (many variations between sexes), pregnancy (an obvious difference...), autism diagnosis etc. Doctors know, and need to know the sex of their patients.

As I said, it gets complex. Autism, for example, is underdiagnosed in women/girls because of misunderstandings that are attributed to sex differences
