The Dunning-Kruger is strong in this one........Either that or he's figured out that there's much more money to be made selling fad diet books than there is from ones about areonautical engineering.
This has once again got me thinking about what the next fad food item to avoid at all costs will be. Ones we have already done that I can recall: lactose, gluten, fructose, table sugar, artificial sweeteners, artificial colours. Criteria: must be based on no evidence and 1/2
must be very common. Note that boring stuff that actually would be beneficial to avoid are never part of these fads, probably because they don't confer "special knowledge" e.g. avoiding salt and lowering alcohol intake.
