I hate it when people say "BMI is inaccurate, it's useless!" No BMI is IMPERFECT, not inaccurate It does not provide a perfect estimate of risk for every person BUT it is a good estimation for most people

In certain populations (anything remotely peds, CF, cancer, etc), yes...BMI is better than waist circ. BMI more sensitive in bigger population, waist circ more specific in certain populations.

Are there waist circumference adjusted BMIs, does that exist and if so is it also dunno?

I think most of the calculated scores include both waist circ and BMI but I don't know if there's one that looks specifically at those two. Most of them include age and comorbidities, and generally that improves the harm estimate significantly
