Furthermore, the central tenet of the piece - that people who only have a single premarital partner are happier with their marriage - does not appear to be supported in any other research I can identify. Is there such a study?

I don't think even Prof Wolfinger cited those studies to support the assertion that premarital sex leads to unhappier marriages. As far as I can tell, the only support is his own, non-peer-reviewed logistic regression analysis. While interesting, it's hardly scientific
