Honestly, I wonder how many of them are overworked and wrung out. You should meet a class of 20-24 year old American students. They have a hum of anxiety that never quite goes away.

Could be, but I doubt it tbh. I'd guess that rates of stress at a population level haven't changed enough to impact drinking in this way I'd be more inclined to go with changes in measurement coupled with the effect of increased taxation as a reason
