Hypothetically, if I had it, I would feel uncomfortable using it, if people submitting it in a petition hadn't explicitly consented to that being aggregated and analysed

Oh I'd assume it was fully deidentified. If you had just postcode and numbers in each category, maybe with any postcodes with <50 signatures deleted to preserve anonymity

I think mapping the postcodes is actually really important, because it brings the question back to whether online polls mean anything at all

If you have postcodes, you can show the politicians involved exactly how many of the voters in their electorate(s) disapprove. Without them, the NSW govt could - quite rightfully - argue that many/most of these signatures may not represent their electorates
