For all the low-carb people asking Virta is unimpressive as a population intervention: Cost of Virta as per public website: $4,000 USD per patient per year Cost of DiRECT-style intervention: $500-$1,000 per patient per year
If you're arguing that we should implement Virta as routine, you should also explain why we should spend 4-8x the amount doing it for little additional benefit

To be fair you have to look at the costs in the health system its implemented in. I gather that in the US, Insulin can cost much more than that in a year and Virta includes intensive support. Basic methods all published so actual direct cost of implementing is zero
