But to be fair, I actually think evopsych makes a lot of sense in principle. I mean, of course our minds have evolved for certain things like everything else. It’s just that teasing out specific adaptations is really, really hard. -
For example, as a layperson in the field, the ‘argumentative theory of reasoning’ seems compelling. And I think it has some specific evidence. Meaning, our reasoning capabilities have evolved more towards convincing others (and ourselves) rather than being objectively accurate.
