5 things that have gotten me called a shill, rated by number of accusations: 1. Calling raw milk bad 2. Saying vaccines work 3. Questioning low-carb diets 4. Saying that artificial sweeteners are mostly ok 5. Calling turmeric "mostly useful as a spice"

Ref #4 interested in which one is best (or least bad). Tend to bung Stevia in my coffee and chew Xylitol from those splendid @PeppersmithUK guys

Basically, the evidence so far has not demonstrated any serious risks associated with artificial sweeteners. There ~may~ be some negative effects, but they are likely minor. Stevia, aspartame, saccharin or sucralose, pick the one you like best and use it!

But aren't "diet" soft drinks bad for you? I thought studies had shown that (I don't imbibe either variety)

That’s the thread of the research I’ve read. Both bad for you but “diet” drinks arguably “less bad” (leaving aside the long-standing debate of carcinogenic sweetners). Physiological response isn’t great. Bit like vape vs. tobacco? Can you help @One_Angry_Chef ?

Two things: 1. Sweeteners are not carcinogenic, there is no debate about this. The cancer scare was settled in the 80s 2. There is ~some~ correlational evidence linking sweeteners to metabolic disease, however this is not supported by more rigorous RCTs

Hi Health Nerd, The reasons we like to steer clear of artificial sweeteners such as aspartame is not because of those kind of scare stories, but because it's an allergen and lot's of people are allergic to it. Plus, we like to keep our ingredients plant based where possible.
