As well as this, the research was in Swedish people over the age of 55 - not exactly an easily generalizable sample!

And worst of all, the way that it was reported in the media was just atrocious. The study didn't really have anything to do with wine and chocolate at all!

Why isn’t the scandal of relative risk better known about ? It makes a mockery of most medical and pharmaceutical “research” doesn’t it ?

Nah, it's mostly misleading when journalists report it poorly. Also, in high-risk populations - like you see in RCTs - the absolute and relative risks get much closer together
