The best is when I hear someone "explain" that we still use fax machines in medicine because they are more secure than scanning and emailing documents. (Meanwhile, our department's fax machine is shared with 50 people and sits in an unsecured copy room.)

It's an interesting one, because I actually agree to an extent. It is much more challenging for a third party to intercept a fax, from my understanding, so while doctors might mishandle your records it's unlikely that a complete unknown will get them

I pay for a dedicated fax line for this purpose. Feels like last century every time I get the notification that my bill has been paid automatically.
