Question: why are the numbers in rodent studies often so low? It seems like 4 groups of 10 wouldn't be enough to prove most of the studied effects, and yet often that's the design

I mean, I get the ethical issue with using to many rats and having to euthanize them, but doing a useless experiment means that all of the rats you've used are being needlessly killed so it's weird
