There are some that are entertaining, but I've averaged it out and I'm reading about 2 scientific studies a day what with everything Rather than take someone else's interpretation of the facts, I just read the facts

when I was a fresh undergrad I thought having expertise would rock. I would be able to understand and contribute, I thought. Fast forward today - still can’t contribute, but what has happened is that I now acutely perceive the badness of most science journalism and sci nonfiction

There is 1 reason I DO read non-fiction books about health: 1) I can keep up with the terminology & specific arguments made for the vast majority of mainstream health messaging from “Best Sellers” & newest fads. I don’t have to agree with it to read it.

Yeh I can see that being a big positive. I honestly just do so much health reading in work time that when I want to relax I'd much rather fill my life with fantastical escapism than more of the same
