On flawed @TheLancet study alleging low-carb shortens life: 1. low-carb group was (hopelessly) confounded by higher rates of smoking, diabetes, obesity 2. study contradicted by 70+ trials--far more rigorous data--all of which show improved health on low carb 1/2
Lol nope, that's total nonsense. It is statistical manipulation, not magic

Believing the "manipulation" has ontological import is the magical thinking.

Nope, it is science. And a bit of stats:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4017459/ …

Anyway, your discounting of those who have revealed the problems with the substance and PR-idiocy of this latest debasement of science as "pure tribalism" reveals your tawdry cards too clearly.

Uh, she made several factually incorrect statements that you are defending with total gibberish, it is hardly to your credit that all you can do is babble insults at me rather than try to understand the basics of statistical adjustment for confounding variables

If it is so successful tell us this. Why do 85% or more of RCTs done to confirm conclusions based on all these "adjustments" fail to support the hypothesis? Is it because the "adjustments" are wishful thinking? Could it be because there are confounders they don't know about?
-
..or could it be that confounders interact in an unfathomable way?
