Clearly, this does not mean that losing weight on a low-carb diet is a bad thing BUT There are likely risks associated with long term adherence to such diets and they should be undertaken under the guidance of medical professionals

I think more information is needed on the cause of death. Many comorbidities are genetic in nature. Could be a case of bad luck in regards to individual’s genetics.

All-cause-mortality in large samples such as this should take into account such genetic differences by design

I haven't read the study in detail, but what did you think about the study's conclusions re: plant based low carb diets? Were they convincing?

I'm not entirely convinced, but as epi studies go it was very rigorous so...guess it's not a bad conclusion
