I did not say diet. I said dietary restrictions. Veganism as a change from a meat-heavy diet will likely lead to weight loss and there is certainly strong evidence for this (RCT/epi)

Veganism has not been shown to de facto lead to wt loss. Any "diet" that reduces calories, independent of macronutrient mix, leads to wt loss. for ex:
