I once had some pathology done and my GP clinic wouldn't give it to me without coming in to see the doctor (it was antigen testing to see which vaccines I'd had) so I just called the path lab pretending to be his admin and had the results faxed to my office

Privacy of health records are a joke if you have malicious intent and modest acting skills. Put on a white coat and don a stethoscope, and you can just walk into any major hospital and peruse the medical charts at the nurse's station without anyone checking who you are.

And fax machines? lol. Our department has one shared fax machine for 40+ doctors, which sits in an unlocked, unsecure office, where received faxes can sit undisturbed for >24 hrs. It's hard to imagine a less secure way of moving private information from Point A to Point B.
