Haha no worries. It annoys me when people say "we're getting sicker" because of the increase in chronic diseases. We're mostly seeing more chronic disease because we are living longer. Can't get T2DM if you die at 15 from polio!

Even now, the rate of T2DM in children is extremely low. The fact that it happens, even rarely, is terrifying, but the rate in the populations I study is <0.5% for under 18s as opposed to >40% in 60+

Absolutely. Life expectancy has shot up for decades in every country in the world, as well as almost every objective measure of health. We have more chronic disease, but trying to position that as "health" is misleading at best

Even in the us, life expectancy is still increasing. As I said, you can't just talk about chronic disease even you say "health" as this is extremely misleading

Prevalence is also not the be-all and end-all. Diabetes rates are increasing, but with effective medications HRQOL scores for those with the disease are as well. HIV is a great example: rates have been steady for decades, but people with it are better off now than the 90s
