Haha no worries. It annoys me when people say "we're getting sicker" because of the increase in chronic diseases. We're mostly seeing more chronic disease because we are living longer. Can't get T2DM if you die at 15 from polio!

Even now, the rate of T2DM in children is extremely low. The fact that it happens, even rarely, is terrifying, but the rate in the populations I study is <0.5% for under 18s as opposed to >40% in 60+

It may 'sometimes' happen in children, but it is still mostly a disease of adulthood. Age is the single biggest independent risk factor
