After talking to a few doctors at work, I've seen another gap regarding #MyHealthRecord - health professionals don't realize how serious the data governance is
If nothing happens, a lot of doctors could be up on criminal charges

But i'm pretty sure it becomes legal to share patient info (deidentified) as soon as the doctor downloads the MHR info onto their system...

I'm not actually sure, but on reading the Act it looks like it's actually even broader than I thought. This appears to indicate that information that is included in an MHR, but not obtained directly from it (i.e. pathology test) is under the same restrictions

Interesting to read this HN. So I cant show my wife my record. In theory? BTW who actually is an accredited health professional. Physio? Only someone with Uni qualifications? I am being lazy here as I am sure it is in the fine print. I have ticked OK in all boxes.

Nah you can share whatever. This is only for professionals - people who belong to an accredited organization who have been approved for access

Generally with #MyHealthRecord the goal is to make it YOUR data, so you can and should use it as you want

Cheers. I am looking forward to researchers doing their thing with the big data sets. If only we could add our genetic profiles to our record. Even initially at our expense.
