Health nerd - would love your opinion on grass fed vs grain fed meat. More beneficial Omega profile? Health benefits to their consumption? Thanks.

grass fed vs grain fed meat/milk makes absolutely no difference in re health consequences. one can detect minuscule differences in omega 3s with modern instrumentation but they are of no health import. https://biobeef.faculty.ucdavis.edu/2016/02/15/omega-3-fatty-acids-and-milk/ … & http://fafdl.org/blog/2017/05/15/washington-post-confuses-organic-with-grass-fed/ … & https://www.innovationfiles.org/points-to-consider-organic-and-conventional-milk-are-nutritionally-indistinguishable/ …

Hi Val. I read through the links you sent. They’re all about milk. Any references for the benefits/lack of benefits for grass fed MEAT? Thank you!

Aaah, sorry. Misunderstood the focus of your Q. I've never heard any plausible claims for health benefits from grass fed meat. There is much disagreement over whether or not there might be environmental benefits. I’ve been wondering whether the omega 3/6 ratio justifies the added cost from a health perspective. Thanks for the links.

seems pretty clear that far greater benefits could be derived from a well balanced diet.

I eat an extremely well balanced diet and am healthy. I’m wondering about the incremental benefit from choosing grass fed vs grain fed meat.

My guess is that it would be similar to organic vs non - if the differences between two options are at the limit of our ability to test in a lab, the actual impact on your health is unlikely to be discernible

I think that logic is sound. you'd have to eat a few tons before the difference could begin to mean anything. meanwhile, pork, chicken, fish...
