Interesting piece, interesting opinions. Methinks the author could do a bit more research on Roundup Ready crops and glyphosate, in humans as well as in livestock. Over marketing issues with organic? Some. Just a marketing term for con artists? No.

Glysophate specifically is one of the best-researched and safest pesticides in use

Actually classified as a herbicide, I've heard some claim that it's safe. I also understand there are no long term safety studies in humans, lots of controversy over it. Bad for soil, bad for beneficial insects, creating super weeds. Good thing it's one of the safe ones?

Apologies, you are correct it is a herbicide. There are many studies of glyphosate in terms of safety i.e. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0273230012000943 … this common claim is largely a myth Whether it is bad for the environment or not is a separate question that is not my field of study

As to safety - most herbicides/pesticides are safe for the general population, and studied as such. The real danger is for farm workers, who handle the concentrated doses of these substances. In that respect, glyphosate is one of the safest

Appreciate your clarifications. Also understand that while the claim of long term safety studies "may be largely a myth", it also has lots of truth. Real truth is that we don't know if it's safe in humans, and possibly never will.

That's not at all true. As I said, there is a large body of evidence indicating that glyphosate is safe. The "real truth" is that there appears to be no cause for concern whatsoever

I honestly appreciate your opinions. As I said, many believe this to be the case. And many do not. There are lots of conflicting studies. The "real truth" is actually unknown, but hopefully were getting closer. Is it linked to chronic disease? Is it destroying soil? Insects?

There will always be "conflicting studies", that's simply how statistics works. This is why we have evidence reviews such as the one I linked, to wade through the noise and come to a conclusion. And the conclusion is that glyphosate is safe, regardless of what many believe
