Just had a letter passed to me that got lost in a system. Thought I'd share some of it... "I have read a few articles recently where you are quoted as saying "for the majority of us, a common cold is more annoyance than threat"

"And also "the common cold is a short-lived and relatively mild illness."

"I would like to say that for myself and every other person I know the cold virus is extremely debilitating and in no way is it just an annoyance, or a mild illness. How could a virus that takes over your head and affects all your senses be just an annoyance ?"

"And how could having razor blades embedded in your throat feeling, plus fluids running out of your face, and worst of all struggling to breathe, ever be considered a mild illness."

"I suffer incredibly with a cold and can barely function as I am suffocating from inability to breathe for days. Awake all night dying and unable to do anything all day except will it to go away. Every other person I know or have ever met with a cold suffers just as much as me"

"So please don't make that statement on behalf of "us all" because it is completely false."

I especially loved the 'Attn Dr Ian Mackay' opening. Well, best laugh of the day to be sure

How dare you minimize the dangers of the common cold! I mean, it's a virus, and so is Ebola, so they're probably almost equal or something
