Man, people do love putting words in my mouth. The status quo sucks. Discarding all industry research rather than including it with appropriate caveats is not going to change that

PS...we don't know that for sure. There's a spreadsheet sitting in someone's files that would not take that much to code, and rerun the analysis. Its a silly conversation now.

I mean, if you are so certain of the answer, why not do the analysis yourself?

I do not know what the answer is! I'm asking you and I do not waste time speculating what it is - I've posed the question - you've tried to diminish its relevance....I got on a train...you've followed & now claiming I have an answer??

You've argued - very strongly I might add - to remove industry funded trials from all current and future research. Seems like a poor position to hold if you aren't sure of the outcome

That's what I mean about - you can disagree, but from my perspective - asking the question of current and future analysts to consider when making public health decisions about food! If there IS nothing left of the evidence - that in itself is an important finding.

It's also a bit unfair to use the word "poor" - I am really not sure what your opposition is to this concept of asking questions of a data-set to know what to do next! That next step needs to be based on evidence?

PS I haven't argues, I set a proposition. You've challenged me on it, I've answered and am unable to satiate your concerns...I'm asking you to consider this - one way to prove someone's concept flawed is to give 100% to making it work.

Neither of us has the answer. Setting the proposition is a first step.

I'm sorry, I don't think you can advocate for a position very strongly, in every conversation we've had, and then argue that because you've put a question mark on the end it's just a question. Clearly you want all industry funded trials excluded from research...

If I were a member of the public in Australia (which I am) I would be outraged to know how much "vested interest" has gone into our national food guidelines. Especially under these circumstances where our collective public food-health policies have not met their objective! https://twitter.com/rosestant70/status/1004562511205560321 …
