Doesn't mean the research is worthless. Doesn't make the scientists wrong, or bad, or ignorant. It simply means that you can't take the study at face value

And when I say "study", I mean "press release", because obviously if it hasn't been published, we aren't talking about research you can actually read yet

There have been several viral news stories recently that have been based on unpublished conference abstracts It is just absurd

Research changes enormously between conference and publication. Because conference presentations are usually only the stepping stone Maybe the major finding changes. Maybe the effect gets bigger Maybe it disappears entirely
