I was incredibly fortunate/privileged to have a supportive family and access to medical help, not everyone is so lucky which is one of the reasons I'm passionate about equity in

I should also mention - I am still riddled with anxiety, but with meds and support I can manage the symptoms and rarely have serious issues

We have a lot in common. I only began speaking out when I felt I reached a point in my career where I felt my accomplishments were good enough that I wouldn’t be judged and/or passed over for work, which is sad. Thanks for speaking up.

I think twitter makes it easier to talk about. I've got several blogs drafted that will probably never be finished on the issue, but a 280 character tweet is much simpler to get out

I'm also in the absurdly fortunate position of being employed by the government in Australia, which reduces the worry about work!
