The second idea for a third Banjo game was to pit Banjo against an AI-controlled Grunty, who would be competing against Banjo in all the worlds. I seem to recall it being co-op as well, so you and a friend could tag-team the old crone

It is Canon lol it's the 3rd main title in the series.

What do you think of Microsoft's big new buy? You think another studio might ever have a crack at Banjo? (yeah I know you probably can't answer that last one ;) )

I think the big new buy is great. And yes, I'm not answering that last one!

If I may ask, Mr. Mayles. why won't you guys consider another Banjo title? I hear that it's because it wouldn't sell well in today's current landscape, but thousands are clamoring for another entry, and people cried tears when the duo were announced for Smash.

I have never said that it could not sell well. My opinion has always been that a new Banjo game would have to offer something different, both to interest and challenge me as a designer and to appeal to new players who did not grow up with Banjo
