The archives has more day 1 delights for its tiny fanbase! More overview-related design, including a mention of the Baroness and some Post-It note storyboarding

A gamer of particularly fine taste. Maybe not quite as well known as some of the games I had the pleasure of working on, but anyone who has played them is part of a very exclusive club. Even if you thought they were rubbish

'Slap my spuds!' The tension must be getting unbearable for Ghoulies tiny fan club, so here's a sneak preview of some of the maybe-never-been-seen-before design secrets soon to be revealed. Get zooming in and attempt to decipher my terrible handwriting!

'Caress my Courgette!' The promised behind the scenes look at Ghoulies design for is getting closer for the game's 5 loyal fans. I've raided the archives and found all of these folders. What could be in them?

I asked Grunty what she thought of this: “That useless pair a waste of plastic, make Grunty next as I’m fantastic!”

'Tickle my Turnip!' It's coming up to that time of year again, so for a special 2020 treat I'm going to have a look through the archives to see what Ghoulies design or didn't-quite-make-it-design I can share with its 5 fans

Fun false fact: We wanted to create back in 1995, but we thought it would be too advanced for players to handle. So we put pirates into instead

Impressive! One of Ghoulies three fans has made their own version of the game. Might go and look at those ‘Neede in the Nuts’ plans later and sob quietly in my garage

15 million? That's nearly as many times as told , and myself to angle the sails to catch the optimum amount of wind during playtests. I still hear him in my sleep

I always wondered whether that would catch anyone out! I imagined a player, heart racing and palms sweating after mastering the barrels. Then, their reward - the exit sign! But it's guarded. By a very simple bouncing Kremling. Surely you wouldn't fail the final test though...

I think this merits an all-new comment from Cranky Kong: "Pah. Kids today won't be interested in this banana collecting nonsense. Not one of them has the skill to get past the first level anyway!"

Myself and me ship mate had the privilege of sailing on the judging panel of the awards, where the challenge was to design games that enabled players to create stories together. We raise a tankard to all who entered and the worthy winners!

Excellent! Here’s a chance for a new generation of gamers to see if they can handle Winky the Frog’s ‘interesting’ control system. Don’t forget to ‘go first time’ on those barrel levels too!

I had a go and got none wrong, since I wrote them it’s been so long!

Update. 10 year old son stopped playing, said it’s too sad that so many bad things happen in the garden. Dad slightly ashamed

My 10 year old son is playing for the first time. I’d forgotten how harsh the circle of life is, how good our animation team was and how great was at voicing Leafos. Even ’s music is alright

Still catching them out after 26 years! I was tempted to add another K. Rool comeback after the real credits

We’re hand-rearing a baby chicken that’s been abandoned. Dad: What chicken shall we name it after? Drumstick? Heggy? Cluckles? Son: I’ve named it Corona, after the virus. Sigh...
