We can and should address the underlying causes of the rise in illicit Fentanyl use. But what of the thousands of people already using it in #SanFrancisco? Are they a lost cause? Do we just give up on them?https://www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/How-does-San-Francisco-s-overdose-crisis-16283106.php …
Ive read the research.. We have research that shows that arresting drug dealers/ jail doesn't reduce drug use and overdose.. I think we need a whole overhaul of how we think about drug dealing Internationally it just breeds more violence especially in under resourced communities

"Another vital distinction in the decriminalization of drugs in Portugal is that drug dealers are still subject to criminal charges. The distinction between drug dealers and personal users is determined by supply at the time of apprehension." https://borgenproject.org/decriminalization-of-drugs-in-portugal/ …

Will it work here in the United States? I don't know. Portugal's culture frowns on illicit drug use. Whereas here we are attempting to normalize it. That's a mistake. In my opinion.
