Made some maps showing which subway car on Line 1 and 2 you should be on to be near a station's main exit. I've been thinking about this for years... so consider it version 1.0 and let me know if you spot any errors! Full size files:

So many nightmare scenarios to imagine with a TTC upload, but my favourite is one where the provincial government runs the TTC but the areas of the city with the highest ridership have no MPPs in the government. Can you just imagine?

Btw, my narrative for 2018 (since 2016 really) was tech responsibility and its dark side. Will keep at that, but my big theme for 2019 is what the next innovations are and where they come from. Here is the first: Is This the End of the Age of Apple?

Hey when a Presto card doesn’t work after < 9 months because it’s “cracked” that’s a defect not damage. Or did you build a $6 annual renewal fee into your business model? Any thoughts

Big issue of Subway upload is Ontario taking assets associated with Toronto’s subways: stations and surrounding real estate the land and air rights. Worth lots of $ and big chunk of Toronto’s public land which could have provided affordable housing.

    10. Support local arts & culture with your money every day, so you won’t have to fight to save it when it's under threat. Support local stores, especially those like book stores & theatres that support the local economy, culture & character more than chains.

    8. When it’s budget time at City Hall, pay really close attention. It’s where the truth of your city’s aspirations is revealed. Insist that your political leaders show in detail how their spending decisions actually match their approved city visions & plans.

    5. If you’ve never ridden a bike for transportation (not recreation) in your city, & especially if you oppose safe bike-lanes, spend a week riding to work. On one of those days, take your kids with you. Think about how you felt on every part of the trip.

Traffic deaths in Toronto at a record high. Traffic deaths in NYC at a record low. Will 2019 be the year that we start taking action that actually works, like New York does? Street design changes, better intersections, putting safety before speed works - let's do that !

Bullying, death threats, and a relentless hate-filled campaign. For Councillor ⁦⁩, standing for public office comes with an unacceptable price. Frankly, I don’t know how she does it. But I am forever grateful for her courage. ⁦
